Action Spaces, Interaction Design Workshop @ Magdalena
Second interaction design workshop by Interakcije part of the 12th International Festival of Creative Communications – Magdalena 2010.
Ten participants (from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro) working together for eight days in Maribor, led by international experts from the field, in order to learn and practice interaction design methodology to achieve useful and fun projects situated in the local context of the city.
Workshop
The aim of the workshop is to generate ideas, focused on users. Generate ideas that integrate interaction systems into the cultural environments in which they will be used. Workshop promotes interdisciplinary educational approach. Participants will be introduced to interaction design methodology and practice.
Interaction design is seen as a process of crafting invitations and action spaces, designing a set of rules, creating unfinished situations – not directly designing user/participant “experience”.
Supervisors
Coordinators of the workshop are Ivica Mitrović from Department of visual communication design, Arts Academy, University of Split and Sara Božanić from Sonce.net, digital marketing agency.
Participants are divided into two groups. One group is lead by Jim Kosem, Director and Designer at Halfman Research & Design and the other by Demitrios Kargotis and Dash Macdonald who work in collaboration under the join name DASHNDEM.
